Time Frame: 2 - 40min periods Obj: SWBAT:1 - Create music using loops in Mixcraft.2 - Audition loops and add them to the Sequencer window.3 - Balance the sounds of loops using the Mixer Window. Procedures:-Launch Mixcraft and select (Build Loop & Beat-Matched Music) from New Project screen.-Save their file by pressing Ctrl+S or selecting File>Save. Title it as “(First name last initial)-Lesson1”ex: “kenr-Lesson1”.-Audition loops that you want to use as your beats by pressing the green arrow next to the loop.-Find a rhythmic or drum loop to start with. Click the yellow plus to add the loop to a new track or click and drag the loop to the sequencer window.-Select a loop that lasts for 4 measures (16 beats). If it doesn’t drag the loop until it last 4 measures.-Find a second contrasting drum loop to add to the sequencer. When adding it make sure you start it at measure(mm) 5. Do the same for a 3rd loop and add it to the sequencer starting at mm9.-Click the rewind button, and play to listen to the song you have made so far. If you change your mind about a loop, discard the loop and select another.-Select (3) contrasting bass and (3) contrasting guitar loops that last either 1, 2 or 4 measures and add it to the composition but do not overlap the 2.-Have students select an instrument of their choice to add to the composition lasting 1,2 or 4 measures.-Have students listen to their song and adjust the volume of each track, the panning of each track so that each instrument is audible but not overbearing.-When finished, mix the file down to an mp3 (File>MixDownTo>mp3). Always save file.-If you finish early you can make another song that is 24 measures long instead of 12 for extra credit. (Every loop is double in length)-Post your compositions on school website to share. Play some compositions for the class.
